Different Types of Blogs
Blogs differ not only in their type of content but also in the manner which the content is delivered or written. The following are the several types of blogs:
A. The most common blog, usually an ongoing diary and/or commentary by an individual, are called personal blogs. “Microblogging” is a type of personal blog that is an extremely detailed blog that captures a moment in time.
B. Corporate blogs are private blogs used for business purposes. These are either used internally to improve culture and communication in a corporation, or externally for branding, marketing and for public relations purposes.
C. The type of blog that answers questions is called question blogging. Questions are submitted through email or by telephone. It can be used to communicate information through the internet.
D. Types of media blogs are vlogs, which are comprised of videos; linklogs, which are comprised of links; sketchblogs, which are sites containing a portfolio of sketches; and photoblogs, which are comprised of photos. Tumblelogs are blogs with shorter posts and mixed media types.
E. Blogs are also defined by the kind of device used to compose it. Under this heading are moblogs, blogs which are written by a mobile device like mobile phones.
